CARLOS MUNOZ IS MISL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MILWAUKEE (Feb. 4) — Milwaukee Wave forward Carlos Munoz was named the Major Indoor Soccer League Player of the Week after bagging a pair of goals in a playoff-clinching win at St. Louis.

The Wave trailed the Ambush by four points as the teams began the second half, but thanks to Munoz’s two power-play goals they were able to get back on level terms before the end of the third quarter and won the game 19-12. Munoz now has a team-high 44 points in his first season for the Wave and sits fourth overall in the league.

Joining Munoz on the MISL Team of the Week is his Wave teammate Pablo, who had what proved to be the game-winning goal for Milwaukee midway through the fourth quarter.

Also named to the team this week were GK William Vanzela and M Max Ferdinand of Baltimore, D Chad Vandegriffe of St. Louis and F Slavisa Ubiparipovic of Syracuse.

Milwaukee (11-2) clinched a playoff berth last weekend against St. Louis and awaits its first-round opponent for the March game at the U.S. Cellular Arena, date and time to be announced.

The Wave are on the road this weekend, Friday at 6 p.m. at Syracuse and Sunday at 2 p.m. at Rochester. They return home Sunday, Feb. 16 at 2 p.m. against the Pennsylvania Roar. For more information or tickets, call 414-224-9283 or visit milwaukeewave.com.
