Strong First half Not Enough as Wave Fall to the Comets

Saturday, November 15, 2014

After a promising first half, the MKE Wave could not withstand a second half rally from the Missouri Comets, falling 9-7 for their first loss of the season.

The Wave jumped out to an early 3-2 lead in the first quarter, with goal from #20 Marcelo Fontana, #29 JC Banks, #77 Marcio Leite. The Wave added two more in the second quarter, one by #2 Tenzin Rampa and another by Banks. Missouri would score once more, but the Wave held a 5-3 halftime lead.

The second half was another story, as the Comets outscored the Wave 4-1 in the third quarter, the lone Wave goal coming from #16 Anthony Arico, his first professional career goal. #26 Ian Bennett would tie the game at 7 eaily in fourth, but that was all the Wave could muster, as Leo Gibson and Bryan Perez of the Missouri Comets would each score their second goal of the game, to give the Comets the 9-7 win.
