THE FACTS vs. CHICAGO:
The Wave has faced off against the Soul four times this season, and has come out victorious in each. In the two teams’ first meeting the Wave overcame a sluggish first half, using seven second half goals en route to a 14-9 win. The team was led in the game by two goals from Luan Oliveira.
In the second matchup goalie Nick Vorberg saved 30 of 31 shots, while the Wave offense received goals from four different players to give the Wave a 9-2 victory.

The third game saw the Wave use a fourth quarter rally, in which the team scored five goals to win 12-6.
In the fourth contest Jonatan Santos, Ian Bennett, Giuliano Oliviero, and Hewerton contributed goals to hold off the Soul 9-5.
LAST GAME: Friday, January 25th vs. Wichita Wings @ Hartman Arena
The Wave held off a fourth quarter attack by the Wings to extend their winning streak to a franchise record 13 games. Hewerton’s game winning hat trick goal with just under five minutes left in the game gave the Wave the win.
The Wave took the lead on a goal by Hewerton late in the first quarter. Luan Oliveira doubled the Wave’s lead in the second quarter making it 4-0. The Wave's defense continued to hold the Wings at bay. Nick Perera followed up Oliveira’s shot scoring on the rebound giving the Wave a 6-0 lead going into the half.

The Wings go on the board quickly as Kevin Ten Eyck found the back of the net cutting the Wave’s lead to 6-2. Perera scored his second goal of the night as the Wave took an 8-2 lead. Hewerton finished a restart increasing the lead to 10-2 with his second goal of the night. The Wings began their attack as Chris Lemons scored followed by a Fred Moojen goal cutting the Wave’s lead to 10-6. Lemons added another goal to bring the Wings to within two. Daniel Villegas added a goal as the Wings scored eight unanswered points tieing the game at 10-10. Hewerton completed his hat trick which would prove to be the game winning goal extending the Wave’s winning streak to 13.
