2014-15: Nick Vorberg enters the 2014-2015 season as his 12th with the Milwaukee Wave, his first as assistant coach after an illustrious career as the Wave’s second all-time leader in goalkeeper wins

Bio: Nick Vorberg has been a fixture between the posts for the MKE Wave for over a decade. The four-time all-star garnered goalkeeper of the year following 2009-10 and 2012-13 seasons and ranks second on the Wave's all-time list in wins.

In June 2013, Vorberg played with the U.S. Futsal national team at the Four Nations Tournament in Newcastle, England, where the U.S. team won all three of its matches.

In addition to stops with the San Diego Sockers, Utah Freeze and the Portland Pythons, Vorberg has also been a member of the U.S. men's national futsal team, which included appearances at the 2008 FIFA Futsal World Cup and CONCACAF Championships, as well as the 2007 Pan American Games.

His outdoor playing experience includes stints with the Cascade Surge (1997-99) of the USISL Pro League, former USL Premiere Development League side Lafayette Lightning (2001) and the Milwaukee Wave United (2004-06).

Vorberg, who holds a United States Soccer Federation "B" license in coaching, also serves as the academy director at SC Waukesha and MKE Wave Summer Soccer Camps. Vorberg also joined the Marquette University men's soccer coaching staff in July 2012, training and mentoring the MU goalkeepers in addition to camp instruction.

Professional career: 11 seasons. Second in wins (138) on the Wave's all-time list, behind legendary Victor Nogueira. Went 4-0 in 2005 MISL playoffs, leading the Wave to their fourth league championship. Led MISL in goals-against average (3.96), save percentage (.762) and wins (22) in 2004-05. MISL All-Star in 2009-2010, 2005-06 and 2002-03.

International career: Played for U.S. National Futsal Team in 2008 FIFA Futsal World Cup and CONCACAF Championships, and 2007 Pan American Games. Made key last-second penalty kick save to help U.S. salvage tie against Ecuador in Pan Am Games.

In the community: Nick is a regular participant in the Making Waves program, conducting school assemblies throughout southeastern Wisconsin. Coaches youth soccer with SC Waukesha.

Personal: Nick and his wife Elisabeth are the proud parents of Kinsey and reside in Pewaukee. Recently named as an assistant coach for Marquette University. In 2010 inducted into the Pacific Athletic Hall of Fame. Vorberg has his own line of goalkeeper gloves, designed to be affordable for younger children and runs a small coffee distributorship, supplying coffee directly from a Columbian farm.
