From the moment he founded World Class Wire and Cable in 1994, Jim Lindenberg has turned risks into success to become one of southeastern Wisconsins best-known entrepreneurs.
He left a comfortable job to empty his savings and launch his own wire, cable and tubing manufacturing company, building it into an industry leader within five years. The company earned the Future 50 Award, recognizing it as one of the 50 fastest-growing companies in Southeastern Wisconsin, from 1998-2000. In 2007, World Class Wire and Cable was named Waukesha County Business of the Year and one of the Top 5,000 businesses in the United States by Inc. 500 Magazine.
Jim was selected by the U.S. Small Business Administration as Wisconsin's 2005 Small Business Person of the Year, and was a finalist for the national award in 2000. In 2007, Ernst & Young named him Entrepreneur of the Year for both Wisconsin and the Lake Michigan Area. He is just the 15th person worldwide to simultaneously hold the CSE (Certified Sales Executive) and CME (Certified Marketing Executive) certifications.
He sold World Class Wire and Cable to Anixter Inc. in 2008. Jim now operates JML Holdings, a commercial and residential property broker, and Lindy Enterprises, a business consulting firm, along with the Milwaukee Wave.
In the community, Jim was named New Berlin Citizen of the Year in 2003, and was also honored as a 2003 Hero at Home by CNI Newspapers. An active youth sports sponsor and coach, he sits on the board of the Waukesha County Chamber of Commerce and supports numerous schools, libraries and youth groups.
Jim and his wife Nancy have five children and live in the Lake Country area.
