COACH TOZER RETURNS VICTORIOUS!

MILWAUKEE, June 11 – Milwaukee Wave Head Coach and U.S. Futsal National Team Head Coach Keith Tozer and his team return home to Milwaukee champions of the Four Nations Tournament in Newcastle, England. Tozer led the U.S. Futsal National Team to back to back to back victories over England, Malaysia and Poland.

Tozer and the Americans started their undefeated run with a challenged 2-1 victory beating host England on Thursday, overpowered Malaysia 8-1 on Friday and hoisted the Four Nations cup with a 4-2 victory over Poland Sunday. Kraig Chiles and Machel Millwood were dominant contributors, scoring 10 of the U.S. team’s 14 total goals; five goals each.

The Wave made a strong showing on the national team, as representatives also included goalkeeper Nicholas Vorberg, who earned the victory against Malaysia in his first cap since 2008. Goalkeeper Coach Mark Litton, midfielder Carlos Muñoz and forward Bryan Pérez also represented the Wave.

“I am extremely proud of our results in winning the Four Nation Tournament in England. The staff and players were committed from the beginning to get the job done. This is a great start towards our preparation for future tournaments including the CONCACAF qualifier,” said Tozer.

The tournament held special significance for Tozer.  Not only was he victorious in the very first match ever between the U.S. and England Futsal national teams, the tournament was Tozer’s first visit to his ancestral home of England.
