MAJOR ARENA SOCCER LEAGUE TO HOST FIRST EVER PLAYER COMBINE
Ontario, California - - Some of the top players in the MASL will take the floor at Citizens Business Bank Arena in a first-of-its-kind battle between all-stars from USA and Mexico in the MASL International Challenge, presented by the Ontario Fury, on June 27th at 7 p.m.
The game, set for June 27, will be part of two days of soccer events hosted by the Fury, which will include the game and a scouting combine and tryout session at the Scheu Family YMCA of Upland (1150 E. Foothill Blvd, Upland, California 91786).
“We are always committed to growing the sport of arena soccer, and to have an all-star game of this magnitude will be a great step for the league and the Inland Empire," said Ontario Fury President Bernie Lilavois. "We look forward to being great hosts and showcase this game for our ever growing Fury fan base."
Players of all nationalities are invited to take part in the scouting combine, which will be from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on Sunday, June 26, but players from the United States or Mexico will be eligible to be selected to participate in the game the next night. All players who tryout will get a chance to showcase their skills in front of general managers and coaches from most of the MASL teams.
"This will be such an amazing opportunity for players all across the world to come here and be seen in person by all our MASL teams," Lilavois added. "Our league continues to grow and these type of events are just some examples of what the future holds."
Tryouts are open to all players age 18 and older and there is a $50 fee for those wishing to tryout. Each person trying out will receive a T-shirt and two tickets for the next night’s game. Interested players may pre-register online at OntarioFury.com.
The game will feature some of the top players from across the MASL, including players from the Ontario Fury, San Diego Sockers and Las Vegas Legends. Tickets for the game will start at $10 and are now available at the Citizens Business Bank Arena box office and online at AXS.com.
The two days of activities are being planned in conjunction with the annual MASL meetings, which are being held in Ontario. There will be more special events announced in the coming weeks that will be open to the public, and allow fans the chance to meet some of the league’s stars.
