MILWAUKEE WAVE SHOCK DEFENDING MISL CHAMPIONS BALTIMORE BLAST WITH SHUT OUT WIN!

Your SIX TIME CHAMPION Milwaukee Wave of the (MISL) Major Indoor Soccer League kicked off a busy weekend of action Saturday night at Baltimore Arena against defending MISL Champions, Baltimore Blast.

The game started with strong play by both Goalkeepers. No one scored until 9:21 left in the first. Wave newcomer #29 JC Banks got his first career goal in the MISL with an assist from #14 Nick Perera, giving the WAVE their first lead of the season in a game 2-0. Both teams had scoring chances but strong defense and great playing from Wave Goalkeeper #0 Nick Vorberg kept the score 2-0 after the 1st.

Defense continued to dominate the 2nd period.  The WAVE was slowly breaking down the Blast defense and created more scoring chances. With a break down from the Blast defense, #29 JC Banks got behind it and fired a 3 point shot just pass the Blast goalkeepers reach, to make it 5-0 WAVE just under half way through the period. About a minute later Blast headed in an own goal, with #79 Hewerton getting the credit from the long pass into the box. The goal resulted in a 3-point goal because Hewerton was the last Wave player to touch it and he was way behind the arc. Wave leads 8-0. Baltimore earned the first power play of the match with a boarding call against #79 Hewerton with 5 minutes remaining in the 2nd. Wave killed the power play from the Blast and kept lead over the Blast 8-0 at the end of the first half.

The Wave and Goal Keeper #0 Nick Vorberg continued their strong defensive performance throughout the second half to shut out the Baltimore Blast for the first time ever in their 34-year history. Milwaukee Wave 8, Baltimore Blast 0. Final.
