MILWAUKEE WAVE SUMMER GAME

MILWAUKEE, July 15 – The Milwaukee Wave Professional Soccer Team’s 5th annual summer exhibition game is fast approaching. The friendly match will be held on July 17, 1 p.m. at the U.S. Cellular Arena. The Wave will be playing the Bavarian Soccer Club of the National Premier Soccer League.

“We are very excited about our upcoming summer showcase game as it has proved to be a great experience. It is also a perfect opportunity to see some future talent along with playing against a very good team in the Bavarians,” said Head Coach Keith Tozer.

The summer game, which offers a reprieve for the long offseason for indoor soccer fans, will feature an exciting halftime show performance by the Freerun Leaders of Wisconsin parkour team. VIP attendees will include Miss Wisconsin herself.

The doors will open at 11:30 a.m. Tickets can be brought online or at the gate for $8 each, and fans can bring in their own lunch. Concessions and spirit shops will be open to the public as well.

In addition to providing a showcase of some of the best soccer talent in the area, the game will also allow Tozer to see potential future Wave players in a game setting, as he will be including players from his tryout session on July 15-16. Many of the current Wave players have been discovered through such tryouts, 2011 Championship MVP Marcel Feenstra being one of them.

The Milwaukee Wave is the longest running soccer franchise in North America and has a great winning tradition with six World Championships. Head Coach Keith Tozer has been with the Wave for 21 years and has received nine MISL Coach of the Year honors. The Wave summer camp program is the largest team-operated program in the country.
