MKE WAVE DROP GAME ONE OF WEEKEND DOUBLEHEADER VS BALTIMORE

Your Six-Time Champion MKE Wave met their arch rival’s, the Baltimore Blast, for the first time this season, Friday night at Royal Farms Arena and lost 8-13.

The MKE Wave remained scoreless in the first half with only 5 shots on goal, while Baltimore goals came from Pat Healey, Lucas Roque, Max Ferdinand and Adriano Dos Santos.

It wasn’t until 1:40 into the 3rd Quarter that #77 Marcio Leite found #10 Luan Sales Oliveira and connected for the Wave’s first goal of the game. Second half goals from the Wave came from #10 Luan Sales Oliveira, #8 Bato Radoncic and #77 Marcio Leite, but it wasn’t enough.

“ I thought we came out a little soft defensively,” said Head Coach Giuliano Oliviero. “We didn’t play as direct as we could of and we tried to take their tempo away from them but we gave up to many easy goals and dug ourselves a big hole.”

MW: What did you tell the team at halftime down 11-0?
GO: I told the guys to win their individual battles and go from there. It came down to the 1 v 1 match ups all over the field. That’s when we started to built some momentum but it was too little too late.”

MW: How do get ready for the rematch Saturday?
GO: Tonight, we built momentum and we want to take that into tomorrow, that’s the bottom line. We can’t afford another slow start.
