MKE WAVE HANDILY DEFEAT ST. LOUIS AMBUSH SATURDAY NIGHT; READY TO TAKE ON COMETS SUNDAY.
The Milwaukee Wave came into St. Louis’ The Family Arena Saturday night and took the wind out of fans sails with a big 9-2 win over the Ambush.
“It was a really good total team effort on both sides of the ball,” said Oliviero. “We had given up 12 goals in our first two games on the defensive side and we wanted to improve that”
Milwaukee Wave Forward #20 Daniel Mattos started the scoring early in the first quarter and the team never looked back. Other Milwaukee goals came from Forward #9 Robert Renaud (Tenzin Rampa), Defender #16 Drew Ruggles (Max Ferdinand), Forward #99 Andre Hayne (unassisted), Forward #24 Max Ferdinand (Marcio Leite), Defender #6 Guilherme Veiga (Ian Bennett), Midfeilder #77 Mario Leite (Max Ferdinand) and a pair of goals for Midfielder #26 Ian Bennett.
“We held the Ambush to only two goals which we’re very happy about after they scored 8 last week against Kansas City,” said Oliviero.
St. Louis Ambush goals came from Richard Schmermund (Victor France) and sixth attacker Jerjer Gibson (Victor France).
The Milwaukee Wave now set their sights upon their biggest rival, the Kansas City Comets on Sunday. Kick-off is scheduled for 5:05pm CT at Silverstein Eye Centers Arena.
