ANDRE HAYNE IS SECOND WAVE PLAYER TO MAKE ESPN SPORTSCENTER

Milwaukee, WI (December 11th, 2017) A gravity-defying scoring kick by #99, MKE Wave forward Andre Hayne from Brazil, put the Wave on ESPN’s SportsCenter video highlights over the weekend.

The MKE Wave took on St. Louis Ambush this past Friday night in a tightly-fought game. Then, in the third quarter, Andre unleashed a monster bicycle kick from about ten feet out, tying the game 2-2. The Wave ultimately won the game in overtime, defeating the Ambush 4-3.

SportsCenter aired the bicycle kick goal on Saturday during their show and shared the video via their social platforms. So far, SportsCenter’s Instagram video post has had over 902,000 views.

This is the second time the MKE Wave has been featured on ESPN’s SportsCenter. In January 2016, midfielder Tenzin Rampa’s defensive bicycle kick while taking on the St. Louis Ambush was the number one play on SportsCenter’s top ten. Late in the fourth quarter, with the MKE Wave up by a goal, an Ambush player was denied a tying score as Rampa performed the bicycle kick within inches of the goal line, sealing the victory for the Wave.

The MKE Wave’s next home game is Saturday, December 16th at 7:05pm against the St. Louis Ambush, with a Polar Express Pajama Party theme. Fans will receive a jingle bell Wave ornament giveaway at the door, hot cocoa bar, visit from Santa Claus and, of course, all fans are encouraged to wear their favorite pajamas. Fans are also welcome to join the team on the field for post-game autographs.
