NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEW

UW-Milwaukee Men’s Soccer (15-2-2) team have WON the Horizon League Tournament Championship this past Sunday with a 2-0 victory over No. 23 UIC to earn them an automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament. Their opponent in the first round of the NCAA is an in state rival in the Wisconsin Badgers (13-4-2). This two teams played each other this season back on October 23 rd. They played to a 1-1 draw. The winner of the match will advance to face the No. 3 seed in the NCAA tournament, Notre Dame November 24th.

The Panthers will make the trip to Madison, WI this Thursday, November 21 st, Kickoff is Schedule for 7:00pm at Shea McClimon Soccer Complex. Tickets can be purchased in advance at UWBadgers.com

Also in the NCAA Tournament is our local Marquette Golden Eagles, after winning the hard fought BIG EAST Championship Tournament. The beat Providence in the finals by a 3-2 score last Saturday night.

The win has earned the Golden Eagles a second straight berth in the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship. The Eagles were reward for their impressive 12-5-1 record, with the 9 th seed in the NCAA tournament and a first round bye. They will wait to see their opponent, as they will play the winner of the Akron- Indiana match. Marquette will host the 2 nd round match up on Sunday, November 24 th, with kickoff set for 5:00 pm. Women’s Soccer:

UW-Milwaukee Women’s Soccer team season has come to an end, with a 0-4 defeat to the hands of No. 11 Michigan Wolverine in the first round of the NCCA Tournament. Milwaukee finishes the season with a 10-9-1 mark.

Marquette Golden Eagles Women’s Soccer have also had their season come to an end in the first round of the NCAA. They suffered a heartbreaking upset by Western Michigan, with a 1-0 lost. The lost at their home field, Valley Fields, was the first since 2011. The Eagles ended their season with a 18-4-0 overall record along with a BIG EAST season title and conference champions.
