THIRD MKE WAVE GOALKEEPER INJURED; WELCOME MATT EISOLD

It has been a difficult season for your Six-Time Champion MKE Wave in the goalkeeper department. Marcel Feenstra, tore his MCL/ACL on the road versus the Detroit Waza Flo, November 22nd, 2014, Nick Vorberg popped his hamstring in Wichita versus B-52’s, Saturday, February 7th and Jeff Richey tore his MCL during practice Thursday, February 12th.

Cue new goalkeeper #00 Matt Eisold from Burlington, WI. Eisold signed with the MKE Wave just hours prior to the Saturday, February 14th game vs. Syracuse where he faced 23 shots and saved 13.

“I’m really excited to step out there and be a part of something I’ve watched since I was a kid,” said Eisold. “Ever since coach gave me the call, after Marcel went down, I’ve been working really hard to get better."

Check out Burlington, Wisconsin’s very own Matt Eisold and your Six-Time Champion MKE Wave this Saturday, 6pm at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena as they close out the Major Arena Soccer League regular season against the Detroit Waza Flo.

Head Coach Giuliano Oliviero…
On Marcel Feenstra:
“We are looking at 8 to 9 months of recovery time for Marcel. He will probably be back and ready at 100% by the start of preseason next year.”

On Nick Vorberg:
“There is a good chance that Nick will be ready for the postseason. Hopefully he will be ready in time for the playoffs.”

On Jeff Richey:
“Jeff injured himself during practice and MRI’s show that he tore his ACL. He will be out for the remainder of the season and is scheduled for surgery at Midwest Orthopedic Specialty Hospital later this week.”

On Matt Eisold:
“Matt was a little shocked and excited. This opportunity came unexpectedly but I think he is ready. He is a very smart athletic young man that will only help our team. He made a lot of great saves versus Syracuse and played very smart. We could of done a better job helping him out on a couple goals but overall Matt had a great game.”
