WAVE CAN CLINCH PLAYOFF SPOT AT ST. LOUIS SATURDAY

MILWAUKEE (Jan. 31, 2014) — The Milwaukee Wave can clinch a playoff berth with a road victory Saturday against the St. Louis Ambush. Kickoff is at 1:35 p.m. CST and the game will be streamed live on YouTube at youtube.com/stlouisambush.

Milwaukee (10-2) would reach 11 wins with a victory, meaning that it could not be knocked out of the top four spots which qualify for the MISL postseason.

The Wave are perfect in three games against St. Louis this season, but the only game in St. Louis was a dogfight. The Ambush led for most of the first three quarters, before JC Banks tied the game early in the fourth and Pablo’s 3-pointer — his third goal of the game — put the Wave on top for good in a 13-11 triumph.

Marcio Leite has tormented the Ambush with six goals and four assists in the three meetings, including a game-clinching hat trick in the fourth quarter of last Saturday’s 21-9 victory at the U.S. Cellular Arena. Ian Bennett also recorded a hat trick on Saturday and has climbed to fourth in the league scoring chase with 42 points.

Marcel Feenstra has been the winning keeper in all three matches against St. Louis, stopping 22 of 33 shots and allowing 8 points per game.

St. Louis (4-10) is led by Odaine Sinclair with 28 points. He has just one point in the three games against Milwaukee, however.

This is the first of three consecutive road games for the Wave, who take an East Coast trip to Syracuse next Friday and Rochester on Sunday.
