WAVE NEED WIN VS. ROAR TO STAY AHEAD OF RIVAL BLAST

MILWAUKEE (Feb. 15) — The Milwaukee Wave aim to take care of business on Sunday against the expansion Pennsylvania Roar as they begin the homestretch of the Major Indoor Soccer League season.

Kickoff is at 2 p.m at the U.S. Cellular Arena and the game can be seen live at youtube.com/milwaukeewave.

Milwaukee (13-2) is on a five-game winning streak and now plays four of the final five regular season games at home, looking to hold off Baltimore (13-3) and keep first place in the standings.

Ian Bennett is tied for second in the MISL in scoring with 55 points, four behind Missiouri’s Leo Gibson, who had four goals and an assist on Friday as the Comets beat Pennsylvania 24-4. Carlos Munoz is fifth in the league, Nick Perera eighth and Marcio Leite ninth for the high-scoring Wave, who have tallied at least 15 points during every game of the winning streak.

Pennsylvania (1-14) was out of the game quickly at Missouri on Friday, down 20-2 at halftime. Ten times, the Roar have been held to five points or less, and have been shut out twice. Corey Maret leads the team with 16 points. Goalkeeping is split between veteran Peter Pappas and Scott Krotee; Krotee played Friday in Missouri and on the season is allowing 23.82 points per game in seven appearances.

Milwaukee won its only visit to Pennsylvania this season, taking a 21-4 victory. The Roar were in the the game at halftime, down only 8-4, before the Wave steadily pulled away. Perera scored three goals and Bennett and Marcelo Fontana added two each.
