MKE WAVE GETS TO FOUR IN A ROW AFTER A THRILLER OVERTIME WIN AGAINST THE CEDAR RAPIDS RAMPAGE

Milwaukee, WI (January 31, 2016) If it wasn’t a festive enough atmosphere at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena Saturday Night (it was Mardi Gras night with all the trimmings), the MKE Wave gave the assembled something to celebrate with a come-from-behind win over first year team The Cedar Rapids Rampage, topping them 7-6. The winning goal came from Marcio Leite at 3:07 in the overtime period, part of his hat trick that night.

The tying goal—an extra attacker score with an assist by Max Ferdinand—was scored by Ian Bennett, who also rang up a hat trick.

The MKE Wave are the top penalty-killing team in the league, and that served them well on the night, stopping four out of five Cedar Rapids power plays.

Saturday night also marked the return of goalie Marcel Feenstra, in his first appearance of the year. He’d been out since being hurt in Detroit on November of 2014.

The Wave clinched their playoff spot when St. Louis lost last night, but are still setting their sights on overtaking Chicago and Missouri for the Central Division Title.
